On most gates fitting a high security lock can be very difficult. The Gate Guard's unique design overcomes this problem, allowing you to fit the most secure deadlocks and deadlatches onto your metal or timber gate. What is Back Set ?

The backset is the distance from the front of the lock to the centre of the spindle as shown here.

If you intend to use new locks on an existing gate or door, replacing your old ones, you will need to ensure the new lock fits into the hole in the lock box. To do this, measure the backset distance of your lock.
