There is mainly 2 types of plastic used today in manufacturing of plastic caps 1. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) PVC is cheaper to make then LDPE but its properties make caps shatter under impact post caps have been know to develop cracks if under pressure. Where LDPE is more flexiable a GEECO bowl made in 1950 is still being used today 2016. PVC caps are half the price of LDPE but are not worth it.
